Hulu to Bring a Popular Game TV Series from the Producers of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
The most recent Far Cry instalment that audiences explored was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the bad guy, Antón, and debuted on October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for embracing action and insanity with the same excitement, all while telling gripping, socially charged tales. Little surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry seasonal program attracted two producers whose creations have embodied all of those elements.
About the Series
Based on Ubisoft's successful video game series, the self-contained anthology series will stream on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The show will also follow the video games' structure by featuring a fresh location and group of personalities in each season.
Executive Team
Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series via their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
The network enjoyed outstanding collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is fresh, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to thank our partners at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this cherished property.”
Cast and Future Plans
Mac will also appear in the show, but currently, we have no details on what role that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago greenlit for another season, with FX and Disney finalizing a new overall deal with the creator.
“Getting to work together with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably accommodating, trusting us with one of the most iconic video-game realms ever created. And along the way, my FX partners always encourages me with their steady belief and assistance.”
“What I love about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology-style series. Every title is a variation of a idea, the same way every series of Fargo is a variation on a story,” noted Hawley. “To produce a large-scale action show that can evolve from season to season, while always exploring the essence of humanity through this intricate and turbulent perspective, is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to partner with Rob and present our shared irreverent, daring style to the television.”
A release window for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
