European Leaders Condemn US Move as ‘Intimidation’
Officials from Europe including the French president charged Washington of “bullying and threats”, following the visa restrictions were placed on individuals who have been central to efforts to enact legislation governing American tech companies.
“For too long, ideologues in Europe have spearheaded organised efforts to pressure American platforms to punish American viewpoints they oppose,” stated the US secretary of state online. “The current administration will not stand for these egregious acts of extraterritorial censorship.”
